Philanthropy and Law in South Asia (2007).

In September 2007, support from the Asia Foundation enabled APPC to conduct a writers’ workshop of the original writers of the 5 country chapters of Philanthropy and Law in South Asia, to update their chapters with new developments on the legal and regulatory environment for nonprofits in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

Philanthropy and Law in South Asia (2004) . Provides description and analysis of legal and regulatory frameworks governing philanthropy and the nonprofit sector in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Each chapter includes recommendations by the authors on policy reforms to promote the further development of philanthropy and the nonprofit sector.

Contains over a hundred replicable, country-specific cases on mobilizing resources; surveys on the magnitude and nature of individual giving in seven countries; country-specific fund-raising training modules; and a financial management module to better manage NGOs. Barnett Baron presented a paper titled "Due Diligence: Comparing Current Best Practice at The Asia Foundation with Part IV of the Treasury Guidelines (Anti-Terrorist Financing Procedures)" at the Seminar on Responsible International Grantmaking Post-September 11 Sponsored by United Way International and the Council on Foundation in Alexandria, Virginia on February 21, 2003.

Roles and Priorities of Foundations in Asia (Tadashi Yamamoto) [2]
Tadashi Yamamoto, a member of the APPC Governing Council, recently participated in the “Asia Confers 2” conference of the CAFO (Conference on Asian Foundations and Organizations). After identifying the changing context of Asia, Tadashi Yamamoto, in his presentation, talked about the roles and priorities of foundations in Asia.

Philanthropy in Asia Pacific: Trends, Challenges and Opportunities (Rory Tolentino, 2002) [2]
The second international meeting of grantmaker associations and support organizations, WINGSForum 2002, was held on 10-13 March 2002 in Sydney, Australia. Rory Tolentino, the then Chair of Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium delivered a presentation on 'Philanthropy in Asia and the Pacific: Trends, Challenges, and Opportunities' at the meeting.
