The Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium is an independent association of grantmaking philanthropic institutions and organizations that support the growth and development of philanthropy in the Asia Pacific region.
Our mission is to increase the quality and quantity of philanthropy for Asia by strengthening the institutional infrastructure and improving the operating environment for the philanthropy sector. To achieve our mission, we serve as a catalyst, convener and network builder.
Our projects have focused primarily at the level of policy development, human resource development, and increasing public understanding of the potential role that philanthropy can play in addressing significant national challenges. Our core program areas are:
- Policy Advocacy - Improving the legal, regulatory and fiscal framework for the philanthropy sector;
- Awareness Raising - Increasing public awareness of and support for philanthropy sector;
- Resource Mobilization - Facilitating resource mobilization in and for Asia;

New areas for exploration are diaspora philanthropy, faith-based philanthropy and community philanthropy, areas that are increasingly becoming important philanthropic sources for countries in the region
Our Team
Our Board of Directors is currently made up of members from Australia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and the United States.
Funding for our programs has come from private and corporate foundations in Australia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, the United Kingdom and the United States.
After 10 years of supporting philanthropy in the region, we have incorporated under the Companies Registry of Hong Kong SAR. Our Secretariat is based in Manila, Philippines.
